Harriet Ellen Walker (b. 1827), the daughter of Harriet Walker of Palmyra, New York, attended Mount Holyoke Female Seminary in the mid-1840s, and became a schoolteacher after her graduation in 1847. She had at least one brother, James. Harriet Ellen Walker married Doctor Benjamin Throop in 1853, and they had one daughter, Helen Price Throop (b. 1856). Harriet Ellen Walker Throop died in 1860.
